Five Loves on Friday

Happy Friday, friends!  This has been a bit of a rough week here as the majority of my family has been feeling unwell.  I started the week sick, my husband has been home for the entire week sicker than I've seen him in years, and our youngest has a nasty cold.  Yet, these types of posts are fantastic at fixing my focus on things to be grateful for, so I'm looking forward to grabbing a handful of highlights out of this difficult week to shine a bit of sunshine on the situation! ;)  The show Five Loves must go on! ...

One  //  Prime Rib Perfection

Last weekend Jason picked up prime rib from a specialty meat shop.  I think this is the first time in my life I've had prime rib.  While it's never been my choice on a restaurant menu, it was love it first bite!  If you haven't noticed food is my love language. ;)

Two  //  Valentine's Day:  Thai & Television

L-O-V-E  this show!

As previously mentioned we've been dealing with illness this week.  We still wanted to enjoy our Valentine's evening the best that we could, which meant a cozy date night in.  Jason let me choose which led to some delicious Thai takeout.  (I'm so predictable! :))  We plated our cuisine for couch comfort and settled in for several episodes of one of our current faves, Timeless.  I haven't loved a television show this much in a while!  If you haven't seen it, I'll sum up the series without any spoilers for you.  There's a criminal who stole a time machine in attempt to change American history.  A team made up of another time machine pilot, soldier, and historian chase him through historical events trying to stop him, doing their best not to alter history.  There's a whole lot more going on, but that's the gist of it.  If you have Hulu you can binge it there!

Three  //  The Thoughtfulness of My Lovey

With Jason being super sick before and during Valentine's Day he had no opportunity to get me anything.  I totally understood.  Honestly he does so much for me throughout the year that I don't put any pressure on him for Valentine's Day anyway.  I adore the holiday as it's all about love, pretty pinks and reds, hearts and feminine touches, but really a special evening with him is all I need to celebrate, oh and something delicious.

But, he couldn't go without getting me something.  He did what he could and it was super sweet!  The morning after Valentine's Day he went to the doctor.  He came home with a prescription, a bag from the drugstore, and a smile.  He had picked me up a HUGE bag of Ghirardelli chocolates and a bag of pickle chips (I'm always craving dill flavored potato chips, weird to some, delicious to my taste buds).  It melted my heart that he did all that he could to choose something that I'd enjoy with limited shopping opportunity and ability.  The sweetness behind this gesture, even when he was feeling miserable, made me thankful to have such a thoughtful husband and best friend for life!

Four  //  Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls

My sweet, holiday loving mom made us heart shaped cinnamon rolls for Valentine's Day!  Loved it!  If all of my food could come in either heart or Mickey shaped I'd be a happy girl!

Five  //  Comfy Favorites

These totally belong on a loves list this week, friends!  While feeling unwell they were oh so nice to rest in!  I received one pair for Christmas from my parents, then quickly ordered myself a couple more from Kohl's website.  They are that fantastic!  If you're looking for some comfy lounge wear/pajama pants I highly recommend these!  They're regularly $26.oo and are currently on sale for $17.99.  On top of that, now through February 20th if you pay with a Kohl's charge card you can score an additional 30% off with promo code:  LOVE30 plus free shipping with code:  FEB4FREE  These codes will drop them to right around half their retail price, shipped!  Oh, how I love sharing a favorite and a bargain at the same time!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Wishing you a beautiful upcoming weekend!
