On This Day Last Year: WDW Trip Report - Day 6 // Tinseltown, Raglan Road, and Extra Magic Hours at Epcot

Welcome back, friends!  Let's get right to the good stuff!

Day 6 - Monday, November 15, 2021

Our morning began in Tinseltown and what a terrific place that was to start.  This park when dolled up for Christmas absolutely has my heart!

At rope drop we got in line for the new Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction, but (as would be the case on multiple occasions) the ride was down right at the start of the day.  Off to familiar family favorites instead, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror.

We may not have had the opportunity to ride Rise of the Resistance yet, but we could hop aboard a flight on Star Tours.

It's a bit tough to see in this snapshot, but Jason was wearing the perfect tee for a pose here.  It features Darth Vader walking an AT-AT.  :)

Someday I may need to replicate this super cute wreath!  It's one of my favorites!

Lunch time!

Nothing fancy, but we were fed. :)

My pizza-lover picked up lunch elsewhere and met us here.

My favorite 50th treat was quite a unique one offered at Rosie's All-American Cafe.  This Celebration Sandwich Cookie is a pretzel shortbread cookie sandwiched with strawberry jam and peanut butter-chocolate fudge.  Sounds strange, but it's darling and delicious!

A stroll through Star Wars Galaxy's Edge . . .

You know how I always love spotting themed pavement prints!

A first for us on this marvelous Monday, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway!  This attraction is absolutely adorable!  I'm a fan!

In this ride you find yourself inside this terrific toon!

Time for some fun in Toy Story Land!

This pavement print makes guests truly feel toy-sized as it is massive!

As we made our way across the park to the exit was crossed paths with a Christmas cavalcade.

Back to Animal Kingdom Lodge for a break, much of which I spent on our balcony with our giraffe friends.

Dinner in Disney Springs

Tonight was a night we'd been looking forward to, because we were returning to a family fave, Raglan Road!

We love the live entertainment here!  The full band wasn't performing during this time, but it was still nice to see the Irish dance performances and we enjoyed the tunes of the two musicians who were there that night.

My food photos turned out blurry taking them in dim lighting in a hurry, but trust me when I say the dishes were delicious!

I enjoy seeing this bicycle decked out differently each trip.  When we dined here on Thanksgiving 2017 the basket held all the colors of fall.  On my 40th birthday it was looking fine filled with florals for summertime. On our recent May trip it looked sweet for spring. It's the little things that make my heart sing!

Toy Story Tree

One last stop in a very cute shop, DisneyStyle!

I couldn't resist these patches.  Mickey Mouse Club was my childhood FAVE!  On my very first WDW trip in December 1989 I purchased all sorts of merch with that same circular logo!

Moana Tree

Extra Magic Hours at Epcot

On this particular evening Epcot was open late for Disney deluxe resort guests, so we made our way there for some late night fun!

Spaceship Earth is stunning all aglow for the 50th.  I could seriously spend all evening just in awe of it!  Beautiful!

Time to just keep swimming with Nemo and friends.

One last shopping trip for the night, at the girls favored Mitsukoshi in Japan.

Anyone else remember Monchichi from their childhood?  Seeing these always makes me nostalgic!

When we stepped out of the shop the new nighttime spectacular at Epcot was beginning so we watched from Japan.

Love those lovely reflections!

Next to Norway to ride Frozen with a minimal wait time.

We finished up the night creating cars and racing under the stars at Test Track.

Jason and the girls always enjoy a post-ride race at this spot on the way out.

That concludes another magical day's worth of memories.  Thanks so much for stopping by today to hear and see all about it!  I invite you to return tomorrow for another pixie dusted post!

  1. I haven't been on Mickey's Runaway Railway or to Toy Story Land yet! The Epcot ball really does look amazing lit up like that.
