Trip Report Tuesday - WDW Day 11 | Checking Into Disney Vacation Club's NEW Copper Creek Villas + Magic Kingdom Fun!

Day 11 - Monday, December 3, 2017

This was our final fantastic morning at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.  As I was finishing packing our things to move on to our next resort Jason went downstairs to Capt. Cook's to get us breakfast. I had heard so many great things about the Tonga Toast over the years.  This would be my first time tasting this breakfast treat!

It was delicious, sweet, and was a fun final meal at the Poly!  Jason went for a breakfast burrito packed with potatoes, eggs, bacon and cheese which he loved!

We visited all the gift shops in the resort one last time before heading out.

Princess is a lover of languages.  She's currently learning Korean, Spanish, and Japanese just for fun as a hobby.  We couldn't resist this perfect souvenir for her! ...or fulfilling her request for one last in-resort Dole Whip!

Soon we were on our way to our next and final resort of this trip, Disney's Wilderness Lodge!

Little One was starting to get a really bad cold at this point.  She really just needed to rest and with us transferring to a new resort we weren't sure when our one bedroom villa would be available with check-in time being 3:00.  We called and inquired about an early check-in and were told that we could go to the resort and check if anything was available upon our arrival.  I prayed something would be as this poor girl needed a comfortable place to rest.

When Jason went to the front desk they did indeed have a villa ready for us hours prior to actual check-in time which was a huge blessing on this particular day!

We were thrilled to score reservations for a one bedroom villa at Disney Vacation Club's newest addition, the Copper Creek Villas and I could hardly wait to get up there and see our "home" for the next six nights!

I didn't do my typical room photos upon arrival as my main concern was getting Little One cozy and resting comfortably.  She was fine with us going off to a park and staying back in these lovely accommodations all set to relax with some Disney Channel.  I should add that even though her nickname is "Little One" she is officially a teenager now, so it wasn't as if we were leaving a small child on her own. ;)  Once she was all locked in safe and sound the rest of us headed off for a quick trip to Magic Kingdom, just a short boat ride away from Wilderness Lodge!

I don't think I've ever looked like I'm having more fun on Splash Mountain than I did in this photo!

After Space Mountain and the Peoplemover my people and I headed back "home".

Before heading back to the room we ordered takeout from the resort's new waterside restaurant, Geyser Point.

The burger and fries there are scrumptious!

It was an evening of much need rest for our youngest sweetie pie and relaxation for the rest of us!

Here's a little look around our beautiful Copper Creek DVC one bedroom villa!

I didn't take any pics of the couch/setting area other than the one above as my sweet girl wasn't feeling well after all and was resting well there.  I will share more on my final trip report as I got better shots that day. ;)

A chair to the side of the sofa, beyond those curtains is a sliding glass door to our private deck

This table had the cutest little accessory on front, a Hidden Mickey!

The dining table was really nice, with a long bench on one side and three chairs on the other.  There was also a drawer beneath the bench that pulled out for storage.

The villa came equipped with a full size refrigerator, oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, and was fully stocked with dishes, cutlery, and everything we could need cook a family meal here.

Disney Vacation Club Grocery Delivery
I should've taken a photo of the haul itself (blogger fail!), but we tried something new this time around, DVC's grocery delivery service!  This was super convenient, reasonably priced, and the service was excellent!  A kind cast member brought all of the groceries we ordered directly to our room, and even gave us a free DVC tote bag!  She also kindly refused our tip.  They aren't allowed to receive them.  The $10 service charge added to the order is the only thing you'll pay beyond the price of the food itself.  If you're curious about the prices or items offered you can click on any Disney Vacation Club resort on the list here.

Here is a peek at our pantry.  These items are things we brought ourselves either from home or had picked up in the shop during our stay at the Polynesian.  The main reason I show this pic is if you look below the bottom shelf you'll see a super cute Hidden Mickey!

On the left side of this hallway you'll find a closet with a washer and dryer (so handy).  To the right is a decent sized closet where I stored away our luggage and laundry.  At the end of the hall was this great nook that held my collection of purses and tote bags, Disney hats and mouse ears, and accessories.  I really made use of that and enjoyed having easy and adorable access to our Disney accessories!

This blue DVC tote is the one we received for free with our grocery order.  The other blue bag is a Disney laundry bag.  I bought four of them (two blue with Mickey Mouse and two pink featuring Tink) years ago from Disney Store and use them each trip to sort our dirty laundry.

Back down the hall and to the left of the nook was the master bedroom - swoon!

The artwork in the master bedroom was so well themed and reminded me of Walt Disney's love of the railroad.

I am a vacation "unpacker".  I love unpacking in my resort to truly make it feel like home.  I do this the day we arrive to the resort.  The rest of the week everything is so well organized and simple!  We had this dresser with six drawers and a great armoire that lit when opened.  (More photos below)

This cute vanity area was adorable!

This bed was amazing!  Check out the headboard!

Also beautiful was this "window" between the master bedroom and master bath!  When the bathroom light is on it illuminates.  It's simply stunning!

Beyond those curtains was (additional) access to our private deck.

The master bath had a tub I wish I could've fit into my suitcase!  So nice!

Second Bathroom with Shower

Just around the corner, on the opposite side of that nook was a bathroom with shower.

If you've been around my blog for a bit you've likely heard how relaxing I find folding laundry while watching tv in my own bedroom.  I enjoyed that here as well.  I immediately started laundry when we checked in and by that evening was watching a Disney Christmas cartoon while I folded laundry to be put into drawers and worn to the parks again later in the week.

It's the little things, like truly feeling at home while at Disney World and watching a new Disney Christmas program (again, while at Disney World!) at the start of the Christmas season.  It was basically late night perfection and a great start to our stay at this highly anticipated portion of this vacation!

Thanks so much for being here for today's trip report!  I'm already excited to share next week's!  Hope you'll be back then!
