Trip Report Tuesday - WDW Day 7 Part 1 // My Firstborn's Sweet 16th Birthday!

Hello, Disney loving friends!  Today I'm tickled pink to share a recap of one of my all-time favorite Disney days, the day my firstborn, "Princess", turned Sweet 16!  My mama heart is full just thinking about this special day and I look forward to sharing the celebratory deets with you now!  Oh, I should mention that this birthday girl does not enjoy being the center of attention, thus the lack of a birthday button on her beautiful blue dress. ;)  Although she didn't want us to alert cast members to the occasion, we made certain she was well celebrated on her Special Day!

Day 7 - Wednesday, November 29, 2017
Princess' Sweet 16th Birthday

If you were here last Trip Report Tuesday you'll remember that the evening before I was feeling incredibly ill.  Praise God I awoke the next morning healthy and oh so happy to have bounced back in time to celebrate my birthday girl!

The day began with Little One giving her big sister a drawing she created for her Special Day!  One of Princess' favorite things is when someone cares enough to make something by hand, so this touched her sweet heart!

Me and my super sweet, incredibly talented, oh so lovely SIXTEEN year old!  Where have the years gone?!

This was the first morning we'd spent staying at a resort on the monorail loop.  It was fun to simply walk out the door on to the monorail for a morning at the Birthday Girl's choice of park, Magic Kingdom!

Dad vlogging, Mom blogging, and the star of both "shows"!

Little One was ready to get a popcorn refill!

Monorail selfie!

First ride of the day, Jingle Cruise (the fun and festive Christmasy version of the classic, Jungle Cruise)!

Loved the holiday inspired Crew Dinner Menu!

Floating gifts and all, the Jingle Cruise was a ball!

After our cruise the girls made their way to Big Thunder Mountain while Jason and I took a quiet early morning stroll and grabbed a bit of breakfast.

Sun on her face and breeze in her curly locks, this sweet girl allowed her blogger mom to celebrate 16 years of motherhood by taking an endless amount of pics of her birthday girl!

Next up, one of Princess' favorites, Haunted Mansion!

The Little Mermaid has been her lifelong favorite so we had to head under the sea on this special day!

The Peoplemover with my favorite people!

"Arrrr you taking another pic before we ride Pirates?"

After a full morning of fun we boarded a boat for a lovely ride back to the Polynesian.

Our home for that week, Tokelau

Lunch at Capt. Cooks
We headed to the quick service in the Poly for the lunch of Princess' choice, noodles!

I ordered the Pan Asian Noodles and Vegetables with Chicken and Jason ordered the Pulled Pork Nachos and Thai Coconut Meatballs.

Princess really enjoys the Pan Asian Noodles here, making this a perfect birthday lunch for our girl!

A peek at the ordering area of Capt. Cook's

Little One with a few of her favorite things!  Her Chicken Breast Nuggets kids meal came with fruit, cookie, and chocolate milk.  She added a bag of chips to the meal too.  She's our little muncher who eats very small meals and snacks throughout the day, so much of this found its way back to our room for later enjoyment.  I should mention that she is now a teen, so there is no age limit to ordering from the quick service kids' menu here.

I dressed in Princess' favorite color, magic band and all, for her Special Day.

I love the bright colorful posters that line the walls of Capt. Cooks!  This one represents the building we stayed in which I found fun being that it's the "Sanctuary of the Sharks" and my husband has a fascination with and healthy fear of sharks!

One of the fun perks of staying at the Poly is Pineapple Lanai, a window where you can order Dole Whips right there at the resort.  We enjoyed taking advantage of the tastiness for dessert on this lovely afternoon!

Back to our studio we go!

It was a gorgeous day!  We spent a bit of time out on our private balcony taking in the terrific tropical view!

Princess received her "big" birthday gift just prior to our trip (her first iPhone), but I packed a couple little goodies to give to her on the day of as well.  This adorable scented Disney tsum tsum birthday cupcake came in her favorite color and was dated for her milestone birthday!

While these sisters were out doodling and chatting in the afternoon sun, Jason and I decided to walk down to Poly's beach.

While at the beach I texted the collage above to the girls and they created their own silly version of it to respond with!  It sure did make us laugh!

These silly sweeties never cease to make me smile!

A view of the castle and Space Mountain from the Polynesian Village Resort beach

I absolutely adore this hula Minnie on display there.  I think I may have snapped a pic each time I passed her!

Time for one of my favorite Disney activities, shopping!  BouTiki is such a cute shop and I always enjoy popping in there when at the Poly.

The lovely lobby Christmas tree

I spy with my little eye, two girls that have my heart!

Thanks so much for visiting today for this extra special trip report!  It was a day to remember and a treat to share with you today!  I invite you to join me here again next week to see what Princess chose as her birthday dinner, and more!
