Five Loves on Friday & an Announcement!

It's FRIDAY, friends!  You know what that means.  It's five loves time!

1.  New Cameras

We invested in some new cameras!  HOORAY for new tech toys to help us capture all the magic and memories of our upcoming Disney vacations!  Both the camera and the waterproof camera/camcorder have wifi functionality, so we may be sharing snaps while on vacation via Instagram!  Please be sure to subscribe!  Can't wait to share with you there, too!

Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera // Sony E 55-210mm Lens // Sony 50mm f/1.8 Lens // Fujifilm FinePix XP80 Waterproof Digital Camera

*Please be advised that I've included affiliate links to the above products we purchased and love!

We've been having such fun trying out these new photography goodies!  Here's one of my favorite shots Jason snapped this week at a park downtown...

2.  My hubby takes such good care of me!

Last week Little One had a stomach bug.  Unfortunately while I nursed her to health I picked it up myself.  Thankfully my thoughtful hubby takes very good care of me when that sort of thing happens!  He stopped on his way from work to pick up my favorite egg drop soup.  Spoonfuls of comfort and a dash of drama, courtesy of the Astronaut Wives Club, helped all my cares disappear for a bit.  Side note, I haven't been able to get through the last few episodes without being in full out tears!  I haven't watched this week's episode yet though, so shhh!  No spoilers, please and thank you! ;)

3.  POPSUGAR Must Have August Box

This month's box included:
American Colors Clothing Plaid Scarf, Pastel Best Day Ever Mug, Folgers Iced Cafe Caramel Macchiato Flavored Coffee Drink, Toot Sweet Pink Stripe Napkins, Happy Jackson YAY LUNCH! Lunch Box, Shortstacks Birthday Cake Pancake and Waffle Mix, Royal Apothic Tea Balm Firming Eye Treatment

I was super excited to immediately spot the birthday cake pancake and waffle mix!  It reminded me that my September birthday is getting so close!  (Yes, even while approaching "37" I still look forward to birthdays! ;))  The plaid and gingham cuteness of the scarf made me long for next month's arrival as well!  On to things I look forward to daily, like lunch. ;)  The YAY LUNCH! box they included is like plastic sunshine.  It's absolutely smile inducing!  To clean up after chowing down, they tossed in some incredibly adorable napkins!  They are almost too cute to use, but life is too short not to use adorable napkins!  They'll definitely be enjoyed!  Has anyone tried the Royal Apothic tea balm firming eye treatment?  I look forward to testing it out soon!  While I'm not a coffee drinker, I do enjoy cold coffee flavored beverages.  I will give the caramel macchiato a whirl, in the best day ever mug, of course! ;)

Overall, I was pleased with this box's contents.  However, I was a bit bummed that one of this month's themes seemed to go unaddressed.  They boasted that the box was inspired by "organization", but there seemed to be a complete lack of organizing goodness!  I think I imagined receiving something like a cutesy planner or perhaps some Kate Spade office organizing supplies ...or something!  In my opinion, none of these things really belonged under that category.  In any case, most of these items will be used and will brighten my day in the process!

4.  Disney Movies + Coordinating Jewelry

Princess and Lela {of Teen Beach & TB2} are twinsies! //  Little One with her new Descendants movie and bracelet featuring Disney villain emblems!

We surprised our girlies with copies of their latest Disney movie faves, each of which came with some beautiful coordinating jewelry!  What girl doesn't love some fab bling?  It's so fun to give lit'l unexpected "just because" gifts!  Jason and I aren't the only ones in the family who think so . . .

5.  An Oversized Cup of Thoughtfulness

Princess went to a swap meet with my parents and bought a treasure with her own money, not for herself, but for her Marvin the Martian loving dad!  My heart melted over her sweet thoughtfulness!  I doubt many thirteen year olds there were offering up $5 of their own hard earning money to buy gifts for their dads that day.  I was delighted that she jumped at the opportunity to do so though!  Come fall he'll be enjoying plenty of soup from this oversized mug of awesomeness.  Each time it's used I know our home will be filled with smiles as Jason and I think back on the generosity of our oldest sweetie pie!

A N N O U N C E M E N T

As soon as I hit "publish" on this post I'll officially be on a blogging hiatus.  We're in the midst of some home improvement projects and prepping for a fresh new year of homeschooling right now.  I'm feeling stretched pretty thin at the moment, so it's time to step away from the blogging world for just a bit.  I'll be back in my lit'l nook of the blogosphere around mid-September.  Meanwhile, if you don't already, I'd like to invite you to follow along on Instagram as I'll be sharing the everyday joys of life there!

Thanks for stopping by today, friends!  Enjoy summertime's finale!  See you this fall, the most fabulous season of all!

  15. You're new cameras look awesome and I'm just amazed that cameras have wifi capability these days (does that make me sound old? lol).
Glad you are feeling much better! I'm such a big baby when I'm sick, so it stinks that I don't have anyone to take care of me when I am. lol
Oh! And that photo of downtown that Jason took is awesome!

  16. oh so fun on the new cameras esp the water proof one. That one will be fun come pool time. I was just wishing I had one when we got drenched on our last Disney trip. And an unrelated almost related bit...Aria asked me to measure her and she was just over 37 inches. Just an inch shy of the Mine Train and Kali River Rapids! I'm not sure if she will want to go on them just yet but I always think of her height in term of Disney ride requirements =)

Enjoy your blog break. I'm taking the week off myself. Just for fun. To be lazy I suppose. Good luck with your new school year!

  18. The box of goodies looks so great! But I agree - definitely not organizing. And that soup - yum! I love soup any time, especially brothy soups like that. So exciting to get some new camera equipment! We have the Sony a5100 and love that! Can't wait to see all those amazing pictures :) Hope you enjoy your blogging hiatus (as much as one can enjoy home improvement projects and homeschool prep!) and that you get many things checked off the list. We'll be here when you come back :)
