Five Loves on Friday!

Happy Friday, friends!  I think this is the first time I've sat down at my computer since last Friday.  I've been soaking up the summertime goodness with my family and haven't missed my Mac a bit! ;)

Here's a short 'n sweet recap of my loves since this time last week...

1.  Walk & Talk
Friday evening Little One went to a fun End of the School Year Party at taekwondo which allowed Jason and I some sweet one on one time with Princess.  We savored every delicious bite of our Firehouse Subs dinner, then hit the trails for a great walk and talk.  We met up with a turkey family along the path.  They must've been out enjoying the gorgeous walking weather too! ;)

2.  Family Gathering Goodness
Saturday my in-laws opened up their home for a fantastic family get together.  Some of the out-of-town family members I met for the very first time, others Jason and I hadn't seen in over a decade!  It was a great afternoon at Grandma Lou Ann (who you can see that Princess is almost as tall as now!) and Grandpa Kevin's home catching up with everyone.

3.  Father's Day 2014
The girls and I so enjoyed celebrating Jason on Father's Day. He is such an amazing dad to our girls!  I praise God for the blessing he is to our family as he strives to honor God in every area of our family life.

4.  Light Up the Night
There's nothing quite like catching the first lightning bugs of the season.  My cuties had a blast!  Check out Princess -  a jar of glowing beauties in one hand and a pop-ice in the other.  Ahh, summertime!

5.  Lunch at the Lake
Food tastes so much better with this view!

Thanks so much for visiting today!  Have a fabulous weekend!

  1. SO lovely!!! A water view makes everything more peaceful!! Big bodies of water always remind me how BIG our God is...how we are just a drop of water in his never-ending grace. :) And YAY for fireflies!!!! They haven't made it to Wilmington yet. I saw some last weekend in Mount Airy...but only the mosquitoes are out here so far. Come on, fireflies! xx

  10. I wish we had those here! Lightning bugs that is. I remember having such a fun time catching them when I would visit family in the carolinas I think, I was little. And, that is what summer is all about! Having fun outside and not being inside on the computer =) Unless you live in FL, and then you just try not to melt! Or at least that is my strategy. Lots of water and then AC!
ahh I miss lake vacations! My friend in high school had a second house in SC and we'd go up there and hang out on the nearby lake practically all summer long. Those are the best views!

  12. Family get togethers are a blast. Moms side of the family meets every year for our Christmas family reunion. I Always enjoy getting to visit with everybody. The food is wonderful and I am miserble by the end of the afternoon. I am glad yall had a great Fathers Day with Jason. My dad always like to eat out so my family took him to his favorite place. Until my aunt sold her lakehouse, we spent various weekends there. Many hours were riding with them on their pontoon boat, or fishing, or chatting on the back porch. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

  13. Yay for lightening bugs - we saw our first this week too! It means summer is really here to me! I can't wait until Callie old enough to stay up that late and see them. It will be a few years but I'm excited for that time. :)
