Five Loves on Friday!

Happy Friday!  Let's get right to the good stuff, shall we?

1.  Parade 2014
Little One had so much fun representing her taekwondo school in our city's parade last weekend.  She was even able to break a wooden board and choose who to give it away to!  So much cooler than tossing candy!

2.  Six on Sunday
In case you missed it, the lovely Jennie of The Diary of a Real Housewife invited me to be part of her Six on Sunday series last weekend.  It was a really fun Q&A session!  Thanks again for having me, Jennie!

3.  She's growing up before our eyes!
Our church offers children's classes during services through 3rd grade.  Last Sunday the kids moved up to the grade level they will be in during the coming 2014-2015 school year.  This meant Little One (now officially a 4th grader) sat in with us throughout the service for the first time.  It was beautiful to all be in the service together as a family.  I praise God for the blessing of a biblically solid, Christ-exalting, Gospel-centered church!

4.  Fresh Flowers
My irises are in bloom!  *happy sigh*  They don't last long, but they are gorgeous while they do!

...& the best for last...

5.  The {annual} BEST Gift of the Year
Sunday my parents had Jason, the girls, and I over for a cookout in belated celebration of Mother's Day.  It was such a beautiful day and we soaked up the sunshine, savored the scrumptious eats, and enjoyed an afternoon of laughing and talking about memories of days gone by and of future fun.  One of the highlights of this celebration was flipping through one of the best gifts EVER!  Years ago my mom began the most precious tradition.  Every year she takes several hundred snapshots of our time together and of the one on one time my parents enjoy with our girls.  She then creates a photo album that captures everything from celebrating holidays to sleepover fun.  I treasure these albums far more than I can fully express! Memories are priceless ...time to wrap this up and create a few. ;)

Have a fabulous weekend!

  8. The gift of memories is always such a great gift! Experiences, trips, and memories are always better than other gifts...although I'm kind of excited for my new laptop that was my belated birthday gift. I was just looking through my archives (trying to find a picture of corn...of all things) and I love how many memories I have recorded of Aria that I've already forgotten about. It's so nice to already have them stored elsewhere so I can always look back at them. So that is just so sweet of your mama!
